36 – Max Brooks. Nerdy writing genius!
My favourite contemporary writer, Max Brooks has an unparalleled way of creating a fantasy world, with every detail considered. In his book ‘World War Z’ (my favourite book of all time) he created a zombie apocalypse in past tense through the highly numerous survivor accounts, from the first day to ten years after the war. It’s ingenious story telling, gripping, uncompromising, and utterly terrifying. Yes the zombie apocalypse has never seemed so believable….
His book was so successful that Hollywood have adopted the script, and are currently creating the film adaptation! I am both excited and anxious about this, as I know through experience that film adaptations rarely pay full respect to their origin. I can only hope that the fat cats in the studio can put enough buck behind this project, and turn Max Brook’s dream, into our very real nightmare.
My advice is this, team up with George Romero!!! and the geniuses behind ‘The Walking Dead’, do this and create the finest unholy, undead apocalypse masterpiece that ever lived!! Muahahaha!
